Thanks very much for the eChapter endowed scholarship and your good wishes for my academic success.
I am currently attending The Executive Program for Nurses in the Department of Organization and Leadership
at Teachers College, Columbia University in my home town of New York City. I anticipate graduating this
May 2010 with a Masters of Arts, Nursing Education.
With working full time in the Operating Rooms at The Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC, pursuing a Masters
Degree full time, and trying to squeeze in the fieldwork in education practicum hours (96 required)
prior to graduation, this May it has not provided much time for reflection; however, it has been truly
transformational. I look forward to utilizing the knowledge and experience I have attained to pursue
scholarly endeavors. I am especially interested in the advances AORN has made in the area of health
IT with the "Syntegrity" standardized perioperative framework, this is a vision that has come to
fruition bringing data analysis to the fingertips of researchers in the perioperative setting.
